Special Note:

If the weather is lovely, post on Facebook Berkshire Plein Air the night before proposing a time and place YOU will be and invite others to paint and photograph with you.

Creating Art Outdoors Update

Thank you to all our members who shared their interests and desires concerning this year's plein air opportunities in our surveys. Due to both complicated levels of interest, individual safety, and institutional requirements, the Guild has made the difficult decision to pause the formal programming of Plein Air: Creating Art Outdoors this 2020 season. We however encourage members to practice independently outside and take advantage of the beautiful Berkshires.

To support our members' interest in plein air works, we will be integrating the plein air event we had publicized for the July30-Aug1 dates into the next online show. Work done during those dates and entered into the show will be eligible for a special category of the prizes. Details on the Summer Celebration Online Art Show can be found at the top of this email. Stay tuned for any additional future events that may evolve to offer smaller-scaled outdoor opportunities.

A friendly reminder: If you are venturing out, many of the institutions we normally frequent are still welcoming visitors, but check with each site for their specific requirements, safety restrictions, and amenities available. We also suggest, even if not visiting a location that requires a mask worn while on the grounds, to have one readily available, as we all have experienced curious on-lookers that seem to suddenly appear next to or behind you and may forget themselves while viewing your art.
